The location in Hawaii for the 2003 Annual Meeting of the Recreation Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA) has been determined, the RV manufacturers’ and suppliers’ trade group announced on its website, www.rvia.org.
The meeting will take place March 6-10 at the Renaissance Wailea Beach Resort on the island of Maui.
When the industry was in a cyclical downturn during 2000 and 2001, certain RVIA members thought it would be better to meet on the mainland to avoid the expense and time commitment required for travel to Hawaii. However, RVIA Board decided to schedule next year’s meeting in Hawaii because previous annual meetings in Hawaii were the best-attended.
The last two RVIA annual meetings were in Palm Springs, Calif., and Kissimmee, Fla.
“Don’t make the mistake of undervaluing the meeting because of its setting,” according to the RVIA. “The format of last year’s highly rated and well received seminars will be repeated.”
The RVIA suggests that members make their airline reservations now. Meetings and Global Incentive Co. (MAGIC) is the official travel agent for the event. MAGIC has negotiated special airfares to Hawaii. For more information, call David Eld at 703 379 8071.
A registration brochure with complete meeting details and a hotel reservation/registration form will be distributed later this year.
A three-tier room rate schedule is available. Lower group rates will be available from MAGIC only to those using the reservation form in the brochure.
