The Recreation Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA) Presidential Search Committee has started the process to select the next president for the trade association.
RVIA Chairman Derald Bontrager, who is heading the group, said that the successor to retiring RVIA President Richard Coon is expected to be named following the RVIA Board of Director’s meeting taking place during Committee Week on June 4 in Washington, D.C.
It was announced on March 11 at RVIA’s Annual Meeting that Coon was retiring on Sept. 30. He has been the association’s president since January 2006. Prior to heading RVIA, Coon enjoyed a 30-year career in the RV industry, including his role as director of RV business for Cummins Power Generation. He succeeded David Humphreys, who had held the position for three decades.
