RVIA logoEditor’s Note: The Recreation Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA) today (Dec. 3) released attendance figures and comments from key industry leaders on the second day of the 47th Annual National RV Trade Show in Louisville, Ky. Here are excerpts from RVIA’s day 2 perspectives:


Day two RV show attendance was flat from 2008, according to RVIA registration data. Attendance was 8,233 through day two this year, compared to 8,271 last year. Individual dealer registrants were down 1.9%. The number of total dealerships registered will be available in the week following the show’s conclusion.


“Traffic is very good at the show this year. Dealers have been very receptive and positive about our products.” — Chad Reece, director of marketing, Winnebago Industries Inc.

“This is the first year we attended the show and we’re very pleased. We came to test if the RV market was the right fit for our products, and it is. We’ve had a great response and gained a lot of leads.” — Dave Babics, senior project manager, Plews Edelmann

“We’re seeing lots of traffic. The dealers are more than just optimistic. It’s a 150% turn from last year.” — Doug Gaeddert, general manager, Forest River Inc.

“Traffic was better today than yesterday, and yesterday was very good. Dealers are looking for new products, and we have plenty of that.” — Jim Mac, director of communications, Keystone RV Co.
