The Recreational Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA) board of directors added Winnebago Industries Inc. President and CEO Mike Happe during its March 1 meeting in Boca Raton, Fla., as part of the organization’s RV Leadership Conference.
Happe was approved to assume the company’s seat on the board, replacing Director of Marketing Chad Reece, who stepped down. Happe was named president and CEO of Winnebago Industries in December 2015 after a 19-year career with The Toro Company. He received his master’s in business administration from the University of Minnesota and a bachelor’s from the University of Kansas.
In other actions, the RVIA board approved:
• Hiring a third party to survey RV industry companies and RV dealers, including National RV Trade Show attendees and non-attendees, in order to develop strategic direction and a value proposition for the Louisville Show.
• Moving the RV Leadership Conference, RVIA board of directors meeting and existing January/February RVIA committee meetings to be held in conjunction with the Tampa RV Super Show, pending member input and venue availability.
