The Recreation Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA) once again showcased RVs to an array of reporters attending the New York Auto Show during media days on April 1–2.
A Fleetwood American Eagle motorhome and a Winnebago Travato motorhome were displayed outside the entrance of the show for members of the media to tour. Additionally, the Travato was available for reporters to take a test drive around the streets of Manhattan to demonstrate the ease of RV driving.
RVIA hosted reporters from Popular Mechanics, CNN Money, Yahoo! Auto, Jalopnik, Motor Trend, Bloomberg, Fortune, The New York Daily News, The New York Post and AAA New York. The association hosted a very successful display for the first time at last year’s show that saw visits from reporters with Business Week, Jalopnik, Forbes, About.com, Car & Driver and Motor Trend as well as several New York City newspapers.
“Based on how well the display was received last year, it was a no-brainer to come back this year,” said Kevin Broom, RVIA’s director of media relations who staffed the display along with representatives from Winnebago and Fleetwood. “The New York Auto Show offers a tremendous opportunity for us to build relationships with some of the media’s most influential auto writers. They’ve been really impressed by the two motorhomes and went away with a wealth of industry information for future stories.”
