The Recreation Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA) Board of Directors recently decided to continue helping fund the RV/MH Heritage Foundation Hall of Fame and Convention Center in Elkhart, Ind.
The RVIA’s financial commitment is for another three more years.
The RVIA, which represents RV manufacturers, decided to donate $30,000 during 2001, $20,000 in 2002 and $10,000 in 2003 to help pay the operating costs of the facility, which also honors the manufactured housing industry’s founders and leaders.
The RVIA donated $37,500 in 2000 to help pay the facility’s operating costs, but during its board meeting in September, the RVIA decided to leave hall of fame funding out of its fiscal year 2001 budget.
The board recently reversed itself in order give the foundation more time generate revenue from endowments and to find new funding sources, said Bill Baker spokesman for the Reston, Va.-based RVIA.
