The Recreation Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA) Strategic Planning Committee is scheduled to review the association’s current strategic plan during meetings on Feb. 27-28 in Phoenix, Ariz.
Committee Chairman Richard Coon, director of the Recreation Vehicle Business Group for Onan/Cummins Power Generation, cited this two-day deliberation as an opportunity to review and refine the basic plan RVIA has been operating under for the past several years.
“This process is not intended to draft a new strategic plan,” Coon said. “Rather, we see this as more a reaffirmation of the current plan, enabling us to focus our efforts on emerging strategic issues and perhaps redrafting our current priorities as a result.”
As part of this next review, the Strategic Planning Committee has authorized a membership survey to enlist broad input on the important issues for the RV industry as well as the association.
“Member input is critical in this phase of our review,” said Coon. “Our long term plans have always been shaped by a clear consensus of the membership – that’s what drives the future direction of RVIA.”
Recommendations from the Strategic Planning Committee will be presented to the RVIA Board of Directors at its meeting on March 1, 2005.
