Fans of the New England Patriots professional football team are scrambling to find ways to travel to Houston for the National Football League’s Super Bowl game on Feb. 1, and RV rentals have emerged as a popular choice, according to the Houston Chronicle.
Renting a motorhome for the 1,900-mile drive from Boston to Houston and buying a brokered ticket to the game appears to be the popular choice among the budget-minded, the newspaper reported.
However, motorhome rental firm Moturis Inc. says the few remaining units in the fleet at its Boston location are going fast, according to the Chronicle.
Most of the units in inventory at the Moturis Boston location fleet had been rented earlier to snowbirds now in Florida, said Jan Sylvain, manager of the Boston location.
But the “two dozen or so” motorhomes in the Moturis Boston fleet as of Tuesday (Jan. 20) were going fast, she said.
Moturis’ motorhome rental prices for the weekend of the Super Bowl range from $1,900 to $2,200, Sylvain told the Chronicle.
