rvSearch.com, the online classified advertising website owned by Affinity Group Inc. (AGI), was upgraded earlier this month to make it easier for RV dealers to use and more effective at reaching their target audience, according to David Scifres, vice president of Internet services.
TL Enterprises Inc., publisher of RV Business and RVBUSINESS.COM, also is a subsidiary of AGI.
rvSearch.com allows consumers to browse a dealer’s new and used unit inventory for free. It is a co-branded environment, which means consumers can move from rvSearch.com to the dealer’s website, or from rvSearch.com and the websites of other AGI subsidiaries, a group that includes the Good Sam Club, Trailer Life, and Motorhome magazines, the Trailer Life and Woodall’s directories and RV.Net, AGI’s web portal to the industry.
The linkage to the other AGI sites means a dealer’s listing on rvSearch.com has the potential to reach 20 million RV site visitors annually, Scifres said.
Online classified advertising is extremely important to dealers because J.D. Power & Associates found 80% of vehicle purchasers gather information and prices online before buying, he added.
For $249 a month, for a 12-month agreement with options available, a dealer can upload an unlimited amount of inventory and up to 12 photos per unit listed, Scifres said.
A dealership can update its inventory daily and when its rvSearch.com inventory is updated, the inventory also is updated on the dealership’s own website. “This keeps the dealer’s listing management in one place,” Scifres said. “Sell just one vehicle and you will have paid for this powerful Internet advertising opportunity that will help you move units off your lot.”
Currently 46 dealers in 18 states have inventory units on rvSearch.com.
