Sales volume was healthy at the recently completed Portland Metro Dealers RV Show, according to The Oregonian newspaper of Portland.
About 10,000 people attended and about 250 units were sold, equaling last year’s record volume, said dealers’ association president Sharon Andrews, as quoted by The Oregonian.
Olinger Travel Homes, a Portland area dealership that handles Itasca, Jayco, Monaco and Newmar units, is having a good year and had a good show. “We’ve been doing good in motorhome sales,” said General Manager Bruce Young, as quoted by the newspaper.
“Trailer sales picked up considerablely,” Young continued. “Those are a more affordable choice for a lot of families, some towables are much less than a car payment — $100 or $200 a month.
“The outlook for our industry is terrific for the next 14 to 15 years,” Young added.
