Daniel Saltzgiver, co-owner of Reichart’s Camping Center Inc., Hanover, Pa., and chairman of the Pennsylvania Recreation Vehicle and Camping Association (PRVCA), tentatively has been named chairman of the PRVCA’s Harrisburg RV Show.
Saltzgiver, 48, will succeed Larry Mellott, co-owner of Mellott Brothers Trailer Sales Inc., Willow Street, Pa., who died Oct. 27.
Saltzgiver was designated show chairman by the PRVCA executive board during a conference call on Nov. 10.
The Harrisburg Show, held annually in early September, has experienced substantial growth in the last two years. The 2003 show, which featured two dealers-only days and five days for consumers, had a record of more than 1,200 RVs on display and drew more than 35,000 consumers, also a show record.
Saltzgiver will continue to serve as PRVCA chairman until his term expires in October.
In 2004, the PRVCA’s 36th annual show is scheduled for Sept. 7-12 at the State Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg. Sept. 7-8 will be the trade-only days and Sept. 9-12 will be the retail show days.
