Satellite Industries officials recently broke ground for the company’s distribution center and manufacturing facility in Bristol, Ind., that will create 35 jobs this year and up to 100 in the future.

The Goshen News reported that John Babcock, CFO for the Minneapolis-based company, said the Bristol location was chosen because of its geographic location.

“It’s central to the U.S. population,” Babcock said. “It is a good Midwestern area.”

Satellite Industries makes portable sanitation products and ships them across the nation and into 125 countries, according to Babcock. And the Bristol facility will be a key player in moving those products around the globe on semi-trailers and shipping containers.

“They will bring them right here to the (industrial) park and ship them to 125 countries,” Babcock said.

The factory will be constructed by Nuway Construction of Goshen at the end of Commerce Drive. The industrial park is just east of Ind. 15 south of the Indiana Toll Road.

“Being just off of I-80 is a big plus,” Babcock said.
