A slate of informative seminars and a golf tournament will highlight the Recreation Vehicle Industry Association’s (RVIA) Supplier Appreciation Day at the association’s Annual Meeting Sept. 21-23 at the St. Regis Resort on Monarch Beach in Dana Point, Calif.
Sponsored by RVIA member supplier firms, the Sept. 22 event kicks off with the RV Manufacturer/Supplier Forum, featuring seminars by four marketing, engineering and economics experts, including:
• Prospects for the American Economy: This session by Barry Asmus, twice voted university professor of the year, will examine the nation’s economic outlook. As senior economist of the National Center for Policy Analysis, Asmus works with company presidents, heads of foreign countries as well as with members of the U.S. Congress. He was named by USA Today as one of the five most requested speakers in America.
• 3M Innovation: John Miller, recognized as a leading product innovator for 3M, will cover the direction of the company’s products and what is planned for the RV market. He also will share design and production processes that ensure overall product quality.
• GE Plastics New Product Development: Regina Harm and Chris Willis will review GE Plastic’s approach to new product development. Harm is the global market director of transportation for GE Plastics and has been with the company for 16 years. Willis is the industry manager for the RV sector and a member of the GE Plastics marketing transportation team.
Following the seminars, RVIA will host its annual golf tournament that afternoon at the Monarch Beach Golf Links, a Robert Trent Jones-designed 18-hole championship course.
