Slide-out systems suppliers Actuant Corp., manufacturer of Power Gear, and Lippert Components Inc. subsidiary Drew Industries Inc. have reached a settlement in Actuant’s patent infringement suit against Lippert.
The agreement grants Drew and its subsidiaries a nonexclusive license, subject to the payment of royalties, to use, until expiration, certain patents, including those Power Gear and Actuant patents named in the lawsuit.
Other terms of the settlement were not disclosed, according to a statement issued today (March 4) by Milwaukee-based Actuant.
“I believe this settlement is in the best interest of all parties involved, including the RV manufacturers and end users who purchase the patented products,” said Robert Arzbaecher, Actuant’s president and CEO. “By agreeing to this settlement, both companies are able to continue selling their current slide-outs while continuing to develop new products for the marketplace.”
