Manufacturers and suppliers intent on showcasing their products and dealers just as eager to review them highlighted the opening day of the 2023 Elkhart RV Open House, the annual trade-only event taking place this week in and around Elkhart, Ind.
Indeed, under spectacular conditions as far as the weather goes, thousands of RV industry personnel once again descended on northern Indiana to review 2024 model year product and the components those units contain.
Perhaps it was Ryan Brady, co-founder of Alliance RV, who might have said it best when he said his company was “excited about Open House.”
“I think, if you take a step back 12 months, the backdrop was much tougher last year,” he told RVBusiness. “We had kind of started to feel some softness in the market at the time. Dealer inventories were elevated.
“We view the market as considerably better now,” Brady continued. “That purge of working inventories down has taken place. I think this week it’ll be all about evaluations – and dealers and customers are much more discerning. They’ve got to be very deliberate on what and who they’re bringing in as far as brands. We welcome that evaluation. We think our product teams have done a fantastic job over the last nine months, putting ourselves and our company in a position to have a great week.”
