Tuesday’s (April 25) opening of the three-day 2017 Newmar Dealer Meeting held at the Gaylord Palms Hotel & Conference Center in Kissimmee, Fla., was a whirlwind of 2018 model year introductions, highlighted by the rollout of the 34-foot New Aire diesel pusher. Dealers spent the bulk of the day securing retail inventory and, later that evening, Newmar handed out dealership awards for sales and service. At that ceremony, Newmar Chairman of the Board Dick Parks spoke to dealers on the significance of the motorhome manufacturer’s 50th anniversary, stating, “Good quality is a product of a good company’s quality culture.” During the awards presentation, 10 dealerships were honored for outstanding sales, 13 for new coach delivery excellence, and 14 for customer service excellence. In addition, five retailers received Mahlon Miller Service Excellence Awards including: Guaranty RV in Junction City, Ore.; Midway Motorhomes in Grand Rapids, Mich.; Steinbring Motorhomes in Garfield, Minn.; Ansley RV in Duncansville, Pa.; and Tom Lindstrom RV in Moorpark, Calif. In fact, Lindstrom RV not only won an award in each of the categories, but the dealership also received a special award for its efforts supporting Newmar’s “Not Just A Number” initiative. Later, Lindstrom told RVBUSINESS.com that he was “grateful and honored to be part of the Newmar family.” To view a slideshow scroll to the right side of the RVBUSINESS.com home page.
