Upstate South Carolina RV dealership RV4Less has closed its doors, leaving area customers with even fewer options.
WYFF, Greenville, reported that Sachin Shah started the business five years ago. He enjoyed early success but, as time went on and gas prices rose, interest in RVs waned.
“It’s not a fun time right now,” said Shah.
Shah’s lot in Greer is empty, which would be good had he sold his inventory. Instead, lenders came and repossessed all his new wheels after Shah could no longer afford the inventory.
“It’s almost like sitting in the sand, the more you fight the more you get in,” said Shah.
Seven other area dealerships have already met the same fate, according to the Better Business Bureau.
“This has just been a horrible year for this industry,” said Kathy Barrett with the Upstate Better Business Bureau.
The BBB said not all of them closed because of the economy, however.
