A leading Southeast RV dealership chain has purchased a former auto sales lot on the northwest side of Elkhart, Ind., and will begin selling products by this fall, according to a story in the Elkhart Truth.
Auto dealer Thad Naquin said that on July 1 he sold the former Linville Olds-Cadillac site on North Nappanee St. in Elkhart to Suncoast Properties of Jacksonville, Fla., owners and operators of Suncoast RV Centers. The expanding dealership chain has 13 RV dealerships in the Southeast.
Salem Hassan, vice president of Suncoast Properties, said the new dealership will sell towable and motorized RVs, and offer RV parts and a service center.
Hassan is still in discussions with manufacturers to decide what brands he will carry in Elkhart.
“We’ll probably deal with the same manufacturers we do business with in the Southeast,” he predicted.
Suncoast’s present product selection features towable RVs and motorhomes built by Winnebago, Itasca, Gulfstream, Fleetwood and Keystone.
Hassan hopes to open the Elkhart outlet by the end of September or early October. He said the dealership wil hire about 25 employees as sales representatives, service technicians and “good team players. We’re looking for people with a strong commitment to customer service.”
Hassan said Suncoast has been looking at the Elkhart market for quite some time. The firm also is opening three other RV dealerships this year.
The 25,000-square-foot building, which is being remodeled, sits on a five-acre site in one of Elkhart’s busiest traffic areas.
