The Recreation Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA) has added a new speaker to the lineup for a free webinar on RV tires and usage. According to a press release, RVIA is also inviting RV dealers to participate in the session, scheduled for 11 a.m. EDST on April 23.

Bruce York with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) Office of Defects Investigation will join Tim Ball, executive vice president of marketing and sales for Tredit Tire, and Walter Cannon, executive director of the Recreation Vehicle Safety Education Foundation (RVSEF) as the program’s featured presenters.

The webinar will focus on tire considerations for consumers such as tire type, size, load rating and range, PSI, tire age, speed ratings, reserve capacity, and getting the proper information to the customer. The presentation will also examine what tires are currently being used in the RV industry and what are the most common tire failures and causes.

Engineers, purchasing agents and RV design staff and their related suppliers as well as RV dealer personnel are encouraged to participate in the webinar.

“The webinar is going to cover tire usage for all types of RVs, from folding camping trailers to type A motorhomes and touch on a wide range of issues relating to what an RV manufacturer should request from a tire supplier,” said Bruce Hopkins, RVIA’s vice president of standards. “This is going to be a very valuable discussion among our industry members and tire and safety experts that will provide insightful guidance as well as help all of us gain a better understanding of how to better handle tire issues and requirements.”

For more information or to register for the webinar, contact RVIA’s Gatie Gore at (703) 620-6003 (ext. 348) or [email protected]. The webinar is free but industry members must register to participate.
