Year-over-year Canadian motorhome registrations fell 11.9% in April and 2.2% for the first four months, according to the latest report from Statistical Surveys Inc.

Forest River Inc. was the Canadian motorhome sales leader year-to-date, capturing a 24.9% market share, edging Winnebago Industries Inc. and Thor Industries Inc., each with a 24.7% share. Jayco Inc. was No. 3 with 11.7% of the market.

Class A registrations were down 4.9% in April and 8.6% year-to-date. Thor was No. 1 for the four months with a 27.9% market share followed by Forest River (23.2%), Winnebago (14.5%) and Newmar Corp. (10.1%).

In the Class C segment, sales dropped 17.1% for the month, but showed a 4.3% gain through April. Winnebago led the category with a 33.7% share followed by Forest River (26.3%), Thor (21.9%) and Jayco (15.9%).
