A decline in Class A sales offset gains in the Class C segment as year-over-year Canadian motorhome sales edged down 3.4% in February while registrations for the two months were up 12.2%.

According to the latest report from Statistical Surveys Inc., Forest River Inc. was the Canadian motorhome sales leader year-to-date, capturing a 29% market share, followed by Winnebago Industries Inc. (19.6%) and Thor Industries Inc. (17.4%).

February Class A registrations dropped 29.3% while year-to-date totals were the same as 2013. Forest River was No. 1 through February with a 21.5% market share, ahead of Thor and Winnebago, which tied for No. 2 with a 19% share. Fleetwood RV Inc. was third, garnering a 17.7% share.

In the Class C segment, February sales climbed 48.3% from a year ago and 34.1% for the two months. Forest River led the category with a 39% share followed by Winnebago (20.3%), Jayco Inc. (18.6%) and Thor (15.3%).
