Editor’s Note: Statistical Surveys Inc. (SSI) reported that data was delayed in six Canadian provinces for the May motorized totals. May is the largest volume month in Canada and the delayed registrations resulted in significant decreases in the two-year comparisons. SSI estimated the national volume for May which is reflected in the monthly and yearly comparisons.

Year-over-year Canadian motorhome registrations fell 19% in May and 11.14% for the first five months, according to the latest report from Statistical Surveys Inc.

Forest River Inc. was the Canadian motorhome sales leader year-to-date, capturing a 24.6% market share, edging Winnebago Industries Inc. (24.2%) and Thor Industries Inc. (24.1%).

Class A registrations were down 17% in May and 11.53% year-to-date. Thor was No. 1 for the five months with a 26.8% market share followed by Forest River (23.4%), Winnebago (15.8%) and Allied Recreation Group (11.8%).

In the Class C segment, sales dropped 20.14% for the month, and 10.84% through May. Winnebago led the category with a 32.3% share followed by Forest River (25.7%), Thor (21.6%) and Jayco (16%).
