Year-over-year Canadian motorhome sales declined 8.9% in January, according to the latest report from Statistical Surveys Inc.

Forest River Inc. was the Canadian motorhome sales leader for the month, capturing a 31.4% market share, followed by Thor Industries Inc. (19.6%) and Winnebago Industries Inc. (13.7%). Jayco Inc. and Allied Recreation Group (ARG) each gained an 11.8% share.

January Class A registrations fell 15% as Forest River was No. 1 with a 26.5% market share. ARG, Thor and Winnebago each held a 17.6% share followed by Newmar Corp. (11.8%).

In the Class C segment, January sales grew 6.3%. Forest River led the category with a 41.2% share followed by Jayco and Thor, each with 23.5% of the market.
