Boosted by strong Class C sales, year-over-year Canadian motorhome registrations jumped 20.5% in December but finished 2016 down 11.1%, according to the latest report from Statistical Surveys Inc. (SSI).

Thor Industries Inc. led the Canadian motorized segment for the 12 months, capturing a 37.7% market share while Forest River Inc. was No. 2 with a 34.7% share followed by Winnebago Industries Inc. (13.7%).

Class A registrations rose 8.3% in December while declining 25.1% for the full year. Thor led the segment for the 12 months with a 34.3% market share followed by Forest River (21.2%), Newmar Corp (12.7%) and REV Recreation Group (12.5%). Winnebago was No. 5 with a 12% share.

In the Class C sector, sales soared 40% in December and finished the year up 0.3%. Forest River led the category with a 42.9% market share while Thor held a 39.8% share and Winnebago notched 14.7%.
