Year-over-year Canadian motorhome sales rose 27.5% in March, according to the latest report from Statistical Surveys Inc. (SSI), while registrations were down 8.5% for the first quarter.

SSI noted that data for the provinces of British Columbia and Ontario were incomplete.

Thor Industries Inc. was the Canadian motorhome sales leader through March, capturing a 19.6% market share, followed by Winnebago Industries Inc. (16.4%) and Forest River Inc. (14.9%).

Class A registrations rose 27.5% from the year prior in March and 8.5% year-to-date. Forest River was No. 1 in Canadian Class A sales for the first three months with a 24.2% market share, ahead of Thor (19.6%) and Winnebago (16.4%).

In the Class C segment, sales increased 41.7% and 6.8% for the three months. Jayco Inc. held the No. 1 spot year-to-date with a 20.9% market share followed by Forest River (20%) and Winnebago (18.2%).
