Editor’s Note: The data for August Canadian motorhome sales in the New Brunswick province was incomplete and are not included in totals. To offer a fair comparison the New Brunswick totals for 2013 have also been removed.
Year-over-year Canadian motorhome sales fell 13.7% in August but edged up 0.8% for the first eight months, according to the latest report from Statistical Surveys Inc.
Forest River Inc. was the Canadian motorhome sales leader year-to-date, capturing a 34.8% market share, followed by Thor Industries Inc. (19.6%) and Winnebago Industries Inc. (16.4%).
August Class A registrations were down 9.2% while year-to-date sales grew 4.8%. Forest River was No. 1 through August with a 22.7% market share, ahead of Thor (20.9%) and Fleetwood RV Inc. (17.7%).
In the Class C segment, August sales declined 18.5% from a year ago and 2.2% for the eight months. Forest River led the category with a 44.5% share followed by Thor (18.5%) and Winnebago (18%).
