Year-over-year Canadian motorhome registrations retreated 17.4% in July and 15.7% for the first seven months of 2016, according to the latest report from Statistical Surveys Inc. (SSI).

Forest River Inc. led the Canadian motorized segment year-to-date, capturing a 37.4% market share. Thor Industries Inc. was No. 2 with a 36.7% share followed by Winnebago Industries Inc. (13.7%). SSI noted that sales by Jayco Inc. were included in totals for Thor, which acquired the company on July 1.

Class A registrations declined 15.2% for the month and 32.8% year-to-date. Thor led the sector for the seven months with a 33.9% market share followed by Forest River (22.1%), REV Recreation Group (12.9%) and Newmar Corp (12.4%).

In the Class C segment, sales fell 19.3% in July and edged down 3.6% year-to-date. Forest River led the category with a 44.8% market share while Thor held a 38.1% share followed by Winnebago (14.7%).
