Canadian towable sales continued to run flat for the year, edging up 0.9% for the first four months of 2018. 

According to the latest report from Statistical Surveys Inc. (SSI), results by segment showed:

• Travel trailer sales edged up 2.2% year-over-year through April.

• Canadian fifth-wheel sales fell 2.8% for the four months.

• Folding camping trailer registrations tumbled 12.2% through April.

• Five park model RVs were sold in April.

Thor Industries Inc. was the overall Canadian towable sales leader through April with a 53.8% market share, ahead of Forest River Inc. (32.9%) and Grand Design RV Co. (6.2%).

Thor was the leader in travel trailer sales for the four months, claiming a 55.4% market share, followed by Forest River (33.2%) and Grand Design (4%). Thor was also No. 1 in Canadian fifth-wheel sales, capturing a 52.7% market share, followed by Forest River (24.4%) and Grand Design (18.5%).

Forest River led Canadian folding camping trailer sales through April with a 70.1% market share while Thor posted a 15.6% share.
