Continuing a trend established last year, Class C sales lifted overall motorhome registrations to a 0.9% gain in February while the segment, reflecting a moderate decline in Class A’s, showed a 4% rise for the first two months of 2017.
According to the latest report by Statistical Surveys Inc. (SSI), Thor Industries Inc. was the motorized sales leader through February with a 42.5% market share, ahead of Forest River Inc. (22.8%) and Winnebago Industries Inc. (13.3%).
February Class A motorhome sales fell 12.6% from the previous year, while registrations were down 8.5% for the two months. Thor led the category with a 33.9% market share followed by REV Recreation Group (14.4%). Forest River and Winnebago tied for the No. 3 position with 14.1% share of the market while Tiffin Motorhomes Inc. captured 13.8%.
Class C registrations soared 17% for the month and were up 19.4% through February. Thor was the sales leader year-to-date with a 50.6% market share, followed by Forest River (30.9%) and Winnebago (12.6%).
