The Grand Rapids, Mich.-based company told RVBUSINESS.com that “additional data (late registrations) became available to us for the June reporting month after the reports were initially released. With the Elkhart County RV Open House this week, we felt it was important for the industry to have the most complete data we have available.”
In the towable sector, sales were down 8.9% for the month and 8.1% year-to-date. A breakdown by segment showed:
• Sales for the high-volume travel trailer sector fell 5.4% for the month and 6% for the six months.
• Fifth-wheel registrations declined 15.7% in June and 12% for the first half of the year.
• Folding camping trailer sales dropped 26.8% for the month and 22.4% year-to-date.
• Park model sales fell 20.3% in June and 22.5% for the six months.
SSI reported that motorhome registrations showed a 4.7% gain for June and edged up 0.1% for the six months.
Class A motorhome sales rose 11.7% for the month and 8.4% year to-date while the Class C market dipped 0.4% in June and 5.5% through the first six months.
On relatively low volume, Class B sales gained 92.9% for June and 122% year-to-date.
