Year-over-year motorhome registrations edged up 2.1% in June while sales also rose 2.1% for the first six months, according to the latest report from Statistical Surveys Inc.

Thor Industries Inc. ranked as the motorhome sales leader year-to-date with a 21.1% market share, followed by Winnebago Industries Inc. (19.3%) and Forest River Inc. subsidiary Coachmen RV (12.4%).

In the Class A category, registrations in June were flat, down 1% compared with 2011, while sales gained 2.9% for the six months. Winnebago led the category year-to-date, posting a 21.3% market share, while Tiffin Motorhomes Inc. held a 20.7% share and Thor was No. 3 with a 17.7% share.

Class C sales increased 5.5% in June and 1.6% for the six months. Thor led the category through June with a 24.9% market share, followed by Coachmen (19.9%) and Winnebago (17.1%).

Rental registrations, which were primarily Class C sales, fell 29% in June.
