April motorhome retail registrations rose 9.7% compared to the same period a year ago while sales for the four months grew 11.2%.

According to the latest report by Statistical Surveys Inc. (SSI), Forest River Inc. was the motorized sales leader through April with a 27.8% market share, ahead of Thor Industries Inc. (25.4%) and Winnebago Industries Inc. (18.9%) share.

Sales in the Class A motorhome market gained 7.2% in April and 7.8% year-to-date. Thor led the segment with a 25% market share followed by Winnebago (17.9%), Forest River (15.7%) and Tiffin Motorhomes Inc. (14.9%).

Class C registrations, which included rental fleet sales, grew 11.9% for the month and 14.9% through April. Forest River was the sales leader year-to-date with a 40.2% market share, followed by Thor (25.8%) and Winnebago with 19.9% of the U.S. market.
