July motorhome retail registrations showed no change from the same period a year ago while sales for the first six months grew 8.5%.
According to the latest report by Statistical Surveys Inc. (SSI), Thor Industries Inc. was the motorized sales leader through July with a 36.1% market share, ahead of Forest River Inc. (25.9%) and Winnebago Industries Inc. (17.8%). Motorhome sales by Jayco Inc. were included in totals for Thor Industries Inc., which acquired the company on July 1.
Sales in the Class A motorhome market fell 5.1% from the previous year, while the sector posted a 3.4% gain for the seven months. Thor led the segment with a 33.3% market share followed by Forest River (15.9%), REV Recreation Group (14.7%) and Winnebago (14.4%). Tiffin Motorhomes Inc. was No. 5, capturing 13% of the market.
Class C registrations gained 5.2% in July, lifted by rental sales, and were up 13.5% for the seven months. Thor was the sales leader year-to-date with a 38.6% market share, followed by Forest River (35%), and Winnebago (21%).
