The overall U.S. motorized market 21.2% year-over-year decline for the first three months of 2019 as both Class A and Class C markets reported double-digit retail sales declines.
According to the latest report from Statistical Surveys Inc. (SSI), Thor Industries Inc. was the motorized sales leader during the period with a 39.1% market share, ahead of Forest River Inc. (23.5%) and Winnebago Industries Inc. (11.4%).
Class A motorhome sales were down 14.3% for the three months as Thor topped the segment with a 33.1% market share. Tiffin Motorhomes Inc. held the No. 2 spot with a 15.5% share of the market followed by Forest River Inc. (14.7%).
Class C sales incurred a 26.1% decline through March with Thor leading the category holding a 44% market share, followed by Forest River (30.8%) and Winnebago Industries Inc. (11.4%).
