October motorhome retail registrations grew 9.1% compared to the same period a year ago while sales increased 14.8% year-to-date, according to the latest report by Statistical Surveys Inc. (SSI).

Forest River Inc. was the sales leader for the first 10 months with a 25.2% market share, edging out No. 2 Thor Industries Inc. which captured a 24.2% share. Winnebago Industries Inc. was third with a 20.9% share.

The Class A motorhome market posted a 7.5% gain in October and a year-to-date increase of 13.2% compared to the previous year. Thor led the sector with a 22.9% market share followed by Winnebago (20.2%), Forest River (15.6%) and Tiffin Motorhomes Inc. (15.1%).

Class C registrations saw an 11.3% rise in October while year-to-date sales were up 16.6%. Forest River was the segment leader for the 10 months with a 36.1% market share, followed by Thor with a 25.6% share, and Winnebago with 21.8% of the U.S. market.
