May motorhome retail registrations rose 11.1% compared to the same period a year ago while sales for the five months grew 12.8%.

According to the latest report by Statistical Surveys Inc. (SSI), Forest River Inc. was the motorized sales leader through May with a 27.8% market share, ahead of Thor Industries Inc. (25.2%) and Winnebago Industries Inc. (19.4%) share.

Sales in the Class A motorhome market gained 13.9% for the month and 10.2% year-to-date. Thor led the segment with a 25.7% market share followed by Winnebago (17.7%), Forest River (15.9%) and Tiffin Motorhomes Inc. (14.8%).

Class C registrations, which included rental fleet sales, grew 8.3% in May and 15.6% through for the five months. Forest River was the sales leader year-to-date with a 40.1% market share, followed by Thor (24.7%) and Winnebago with 21.1% of the U.S. market.
