Editor’s Note: The data for November Canadian towable sales in the New Brunswick province was incomplete and are not included in totals. To offer a fair comparison the New Brunswick totals for 2013 have also been removed.

Year-over-year Canadian towable sales fell 12.45% in November and 5.5% for the first 11 months, according to the latest report from Statistical Surveys Inc.

Results by segment showed:

• Sales in the travel trailer sector dropped 10.5% in November and 3.5% year-to-date.

• Canadian fifth-wheel sales declined 15.6%, and 8.4% for the 11 months.

• Folding camping trailer registrations decreased 33.3% in November and 18.9% year-to-date.

• Canadian sales of recreational park trailers matched last year’s total for the month but declined 29.7% year-to-date.

Thor Industries Inc. was the overall Canadian towables sales leader through November with a 38.2% market share, followed by Forest River Inc. (32%) and Jayco Inc. (16.3%).

Thor was also the leader in travel trailer sales for the 11 months, holding a 37.5% market share, while Forest River was No. 2 (30.2%), followed by Jayco (17%).

Thor was the leader in the Canadian fifth-wheel sector year-to-date, capturing a 47.9% market share, with Forest River at No. 2 posting a 32.5% share, followed by Jayco at 10.4%.

In the park model sector, Thor captured a 41% market share while Forest River garnered a 26.9% share, followed by General Coach (11.2%). Forest River led the Canadian folding camping trailer sales for the 11 months with a 63.7% market share while Jayco posted a 28.7% share.
