Randy Lemasters, who announced his retirement after having developed the non-RV trailer program over the past 10 years for Statistical Surveys Inc. (SSI), Grand Rapids, Mich., received the ”Associate Member of the Year Award” this week from the National Association of Trailer Manufacturers (NATM) which is holding its annual meeting in New Orleans.
The award, according to SSI President Tom Walworth, cited Lemasters, 67, for ”being instrumental in setting up SSI’s trailer program” starting in 2005, the year Lemasters joined the company. Lemasters previously was national sales manager for now-defunct Nu Wa Industries Inc. in Chanute, Kan., where he and his wife Lana still reside.
Lemasters told RVBUSINESS.com that the couple intends to spend their retirement traveling in their 36-foot 2012 Nu Wa Hitchhiker fifth-wheel. The couple’s first trip will be to the West Coast where they plan to visit Yosemite and Glacier national parks and travel into British Columbia.
”We want to do some traveling before we get too old and look back and say that it’s too bad that we didn’t do it,” Lemasters said. Members of NATM, based in Topeka, Kan., manufacture open and closed utility trailers, horse trailers and other commercial towables.
