Starcraft Distribution Co./DDR, a Bristol, Ind.-based importer/distributor of replacement parts to the automotive and recreational vehicle industry aftermarkets, announced two key management appointments. According to a press release, Derek Thews will assume the role of president while Nick Chumas was named vice president.
Thews joined Starcraft Distribution in 2010 as general manager. Previously, he was employed by Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems in the El Segundo, Calif., and was honorably discharged from the U.S Marine Corp.
“Thews’ knowledge and business experience in fulfilling the needs to both the automotive and recreational vehicle industry has allowed to Starcraft/DDR to expand and grow in the marketplace,” the release stated.
Chumas joined the company in 2015 and has expanded its manufacturing facility to accommodate the growth of the company’s import/distribution needs for the automotive and recreational vehicle industries.
Prior to joining Starcraft Distribution, he served as president and co-founder of PRO-TEC Safety Equipment and held senior management positions at ASA and Alco Tool.
In the mid 1960’s, the company entered the recreational vehicle industry with a line of fold-down campers that were sold under the Starcraft brand. It later became a key player in the conversion van market.
Currently, Starcraft Distribution handles a wide range of aftermarket accessories including bus parts, truck cap parts and accessories, RV/trailer parts, cargo trailer parts, horse trailer parts, and automotive aftermarket accessories along with a full line of windows and doors for all product lines.
