Van conversion manufacturer Starcraft Corp. has opened a final assembly plant in Mexico to serve the Mexican market, the Goshen, Ind.-based company announced.
In July, Starcraft’s operation in Goshen began shipping component part packages to the company’s plant in Salau, Mexico, for final assembly. The kits include side walls, wood accents, seating and upholstery materials, raised roofs, running boards and other parts that were made in Goshen.
The converted vans will be retailed through car dealers in Mexico.
The opening of the plant in Mexico “enabled us to add meaningful production to our Goshen facility while serving a growing market outside the U.S.,” said Mike Schoeffler, president of Starcraft Corp.
