The February motorized RV market declined 59.7% from a year ago, according to the latest survey results from Statistical Surveys Inc.
The Grand Rapids, Mich.-based firm reported that retail sales for the month totaled 1,1662 units, compared with 2,884 a year ago.
The Class A total for February was 715 units, compared with 1,806 a year ago, while the Class C total was 447, compared with 1,078 a year ago.
The totals represented a 60.4% decline for Class A’s and a 58.5% decline for Class C’s.
Winnebago Industries Inc. and Fleetwood Enterprises Inc. topped the leader board in a near dead-heat, with 196 and 195 sales, respectively.
In Class A sales, Monaco was tops with 139 units sold, and in Class C’s Winnebago Industries Inc. was tops with 96.
For the first two months of 2009, retail sales totaled 2,359 units, compared with 5,455 units in 2008 or a 56.7% decline.
Class A sales for the first two months of this year totaled 1,465, compared with 3,570 a year ago, while Class C sales totaled 894 compared with 1,885 a year ago.
