November motorized sales fell 65.6% in year-over-year comparisons as both the Class A and Class C markets showed significant declines.
According to Statistical Surveys Inc., Grand Rapids, Mich., overall November motorhome sales retreated to 1,036 units compared with 3,010 a year ago while year-to-date registrations decreased 41.2% to 26,661 units from 45,330.
The numbers were in line with motorized wholesale shipments for the month, which incurred a 75.8% decline.
Class A retail sales were down 66.5% in November with 664 units sold versus 1,984 the previous year. For the 11 months, the Class A segment decreased 44.2% to 15,545 units from 27,839 in 2007.
The Class C market dropped 63.7% in November to 372 units from 1,026 the year prior. Year-to-date, Class C registrations were down 36.4% to 11,116 units compared with 17,491 a year ago.
