A revised survey of November motorhome retail sales showed a 1.6% drop from 2003, according to new data from Statistical Surveys Inc. which included complete information from the states of Michigan, Texas and Washington.
The independent research firm reported that during November, 3,764 motorhomes were sold compared with 3,827 units last year.
Year to date, the motorhome retail market continued to outpace 2003, showing a 7.2% increase to 57,903 units sold through November compared to 54,006 the previous year.
The amended totals showed Class A retail sales were down 2.8% for the month with 2,774 units sold while cumulative sales through November rose 4.4% to 39,173 units sold versus 37,534 in 2003.
Class C sales in November grew 1.6% with 990 units sold compared with 974 last year. For the year, the Class C retail market showed a healthy 13.7% gain to 18,730 units compared with 16,472 in 2003.
Statistical Surveys noted that the state of New Hampshire was not included in November numbers and the firm does not collect data from Hawaii.
