Tom Stinnett, owner of Tom Stinnett RV Freedom Center in Clarksville, Ind., received the James B. Summers Award during the national Recreation Vehicle Dealers Association’s (RVDA) annual membership meeting in Las Vegas earlier this month.
Stinnett is a former chairman of the RVDA Board, a member of the RVDA Education Foundation and is RVDA’s representative on the Go RVing Coalition.
Additionally, Stinnett recently was elected chairman of the RV Assistance Corp. (RVAC) and he continues to serve on the RVDA board.
“Tom is part of the RVDA volunteer leadership that worked very hard to solidify and expand the association’s human and financial resources,” said Bruce Bentz, a Bismark, N.D., dealer whose term as RVDA chairman ended on Oct. 2.
“Tom is now and since 1995 has been a driving force behind the Go RVing program,” Bentz continued. “His fellow dealers acknowledge that no dealer has done more to make Go RVing a reality and to keep it fresh and vibrant than has Tom Stinnett.”
The award is name for former RVDA executive vice president and CEO Jim Summers and recognizes individuals who make consistent and outstanding contributions to the association and its members.
The winner of the Summers award are picked by the RVDA board from nominations made by RVDA membership.
Based in Fairfax, Va., the RVDA’s members include RV dealers, RV rental operators and RV aftermarket sales and service locations.
