The stock market plunged Monday after market analysts downgraded data networking stocks because it appears telephone companies will reduce their investments in equipment to carry data over their networks.

As a result, the Nasdaq fell 152 points, or 5%, to its near lowest point since October 1999.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average also dove 167 points, or 1.6%, on Monday.

Meanwhile, RV stocks closed mostly lower.
