A grand opening is set for Nov. 17-18 at Stone’s Camping World, New Jersey’s largest popup dealer, which is relocating its dealership from Berlin to a new store five miles south in Winslow Township.
The new 14,000-square-foot facility sits on 23 acres and features a 26-foot lighted portico that wraps around the building to facilitate the year-round display of product. The move to the new store, housing five service bays including two 80-foot-long drive-throughs, was necessitated by the old store’s growth and its proximity to the expansion of New Jersey 73, which passes by the old store.
Stone’s carries Fleetwood folding camping trailers plus K-Z and Cruiser-brand travel trailers and toy haulers and a full line of Coleman outdoor products – tents, sleeping bags, screen rooms, lanterns and stoves.
Owned and operated by the Stone family since 1960, Stone’s Camping World was originally known as Apache Camping Center. It opened an indoor showroom in Gibbsboro, N.J., in 1962, believed to have been the first of its kind on the East Coast, and took on Coleman products in 1969, making it one of the oldest Coleman dealers in the country.
The dealership was awarded the Coleman Presidential Award given to the No. 1 dealer in the nation at one point and has received the Fleetwood Customer Service Award for a number of years. Considering itself the state’s premier depot for materials utilized by the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, Stone’s Camping World is now run by Kevin Stone, son of founders Harry and Dot Stone.
