David C. Struck, co-founder and corporate vice president of Fan-Tastic Vent, passed away June 16 at the age of 69.
The entrepreneur co-founded the Imlay City, Mich.-based company in 1984 with Stephen A. Milks, who passed away in March. Fan-Tastic Vent was recognized as the industry’s leading supplier of air exchange systems, selling its one millionth unit in 2001.
Prior to founding Fan-Tastic Vent, Struck was employed by Champion Home Builders for 24 years, ending his career as vice president of sales and marketing.
Additionally, Struck was a 45-year veteran of the RV industry serving as a board member of the Recreational Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA) and the Michigan Association of Recreational Vehicles and Campgrounds (MARVAC). He also played a key role in merging the Recreational Vehicle Institute (RVI) and the Trailer Coach Association (TCA) into RVIA and was the last past president to lead RVI.
In a statement, Fan-Tastic Vent said Struck will be remembered for his quick wit, humor, and compassion.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today (June 19) at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Flint with funeral services tomorrow at 11 a.m. at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Grand Blanc.
Struck is survived by his wife, Judith P. Struck of nine years; daughters, Susan Parrotta of Myrtle Beach, SC and Jody Caldwell of North Hollywood, Caloif.; son, Jeff Atwell of Flint; mother, Charlotte H. (Gruhn) Struck of Frankenmuth, Mich.; grandchildren, David and Michael Patrick Parrotta, Andrew Caldwell, Kristopher, Sarah and Amber Atwell; sister, Judith (Tom) Conzelmann of Frankenmuth and several nieces and nephews.
