Family Van RV, a longstanding Phoenix dealership, was severely damaged by fire Sunday (Nov. 23) afternoon. Owner Pat Finnegan, who has been in business 31 years, said a building containing mostly RV parts was lost in the blaze.
“You put your whole life into something and, you know, it means more to me than just the store,” Finnegan said. “I put a lot of work and effort into it.”
KTVK reported that when firefighters arrived at Family Van RV, they encountered heavy smoke. After breaking through security devices and entering the building, firefighters went into defensive mode and fought the flames from outside due to the smoke.
Phoenix firefighters say the building appears to be a total loss. Finnegan was waiting to hear back from his insurance company.
Fire investigators are trying to determine the cause.
