SunLine Coach Co., Denver, Pa., has added the Tran-Sport, a compact sport-utility travel trailer (SURV) with a unique side ramp, to its towable lineup as the company marks its 40th anniversary in 2005.
“It’s not a full-blown toy hauler,” said Tim Martin, director of product development. “It’s an ‘East Coast’ toy hauler designed more for the older couple with a motorcycle who may be going to Bike Week in Daytona (Fla.) or to the rally in Sturgis (S.D.).”
The side-loading floorplan, featuring a diamond-plate ramp, was designed to keep the trailer compact, Martin said.
The wood-and-aluminum Tran-Sport, equipped with a sealed vapor barrier between the 7-foot-9-inch-deep garage and living area, initially is being manufactured in a 26-foot floorplan with a walk-through bath, queen bed and couch for a starting retail price of $24,900.
Options include a set of bunks that fold down from the rear sidewall. A 30-foot floorplan will be added by the first of the year.
