DURA Automotive Systems Inc., parent of RV industry suppliers Atwood Mobile Products and Creation Group, reported flat sales and earnings for the Rochester Hills, Mich.-based company’s second quarter.
Revenues during the three-month period, ended July 3, were $623.8 million compared to $658.8 million in the prior-year quarter. Net income for the quarter was $3 million versus $3.3 million.
For the six-month period revenue fell to $1.2 billion from $1.3 billion in the year prior while the company reported a net loss of $1.9 million compared to net income of $12.5 million.
DURA said the decrease in second-quarter revenue was driven primarily by lower North American automotive and RV production. The company manufactures a variety of components and systems for the global automotive, RV and specialty vehicle industries.
“We expect the industry to become even more challenging over the next six months and, therefore, we must keep our focus on our cost reduction initiatives,” said said Larry Denton, president and CEO.
